Adobe 2010 Reader scam spam

I know this one's not new, but the spamming campaign seems to have stepped up a gear recently, as I've received two emails in the last week inviting me to "Activate Your New Adobe PDF Reader".
If you follow the link in the email (supposedly sent by Adobe), you go to
http://www.new-adobe-2010.com
and from there on to a Russian website that wants your credit card details!
Something not quite right there...According to Adobe themselves, there is no such thing as "Adobe 2010"

Hi fwor
Do you subscibe to newsletters for Qu ick company formations? I use a unique email address for them and have just started receiving this spam.0 -

No, I do not. The email address is a disposable one I use when enquiring about products, so it could have been from one of perhaps fifty contacts.
The group operating this scam probably buys stolen email address lists from many sources - I suspect that many come from contract technical staff working at data centres, where they have root access to server databases without any direct link to the companies that create and use them.0
