if the phone line works, stick a phone in it and call someone, then ask them to do a 1471 and tell you the number :)

or if you have a mobile call that and see if the number displays.

or try dialling 17070, it'll be read back to you

There's no way to find out what number you'll have until it's running. It won't necessarily be the same number the line had when it was last used.

As far as I know all companies do a credit check, yes.
  • Hello!
I hope someone can help me!
I've signed up to Orange Home Broadband but I need to have an active landline so I am trying to find the cheapest option to get the landline connected without having to take out a contract! And I don't want to have to pay £150 with BT to get it installed either!!
    I'm all confused!!
    Thanks for any help!!
  • Can't Orange be bothered to connect the landline for you? Talk about making the customer do all the work :)

It costs about £117 with the Post Office with a one month contract.
