    Hi all
First time using the site so it is all a little new

Ok my situation i need some advice on is:
I am recieving income support (incapacity) for extreme panick atacks and depression.
My boyfriend of 1 year has asked me to move in with him but he is financially struggling as leaving the forces he has been left in debt and taken £10,000 pay cut, so he would need me to contribute because living alone he just about keeps his head above water.
But i want to do this by the book and declare it if i decide to move in with him.. but wondered if I would be entitled to any help still or would he be expected to support me financially ?

p.s - I have not moved in with him yet as strongly believe that honesty is the best policy and i need to think things through because i dont want to put undue stress upon myself while trying to get better.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Did you not try to claim IB(Y) instead of IS?

If you had and were awarded it you wouldnt lose it because it isnt means tested.

As it is he would have to keep you and if that would put a strain on his relationship, dont move in together.

How did he go into debt while away in the forces?

As a single person he would gain and not lose by being deployed.
  • Didn't know I would be entitled to IB what is the difference? I had a medical for income support and they then put me on incapacitated income support but did ask if was incapacity benefit and wad told no, so confused me!

And to be honest I don't really know 100% I just know it was an issue with a mobile company and bank , but just know he is struggling as pays over 300 a month on fuel to work alone and he already sold his car and downgraded to smaller engine
