Is it worth going with Homeserve Home Emergency Cover ?

My son has had a Glowworm boiler fitted and it has a 2 year guarantee, he was going to go with their insurance which is just under £200 per year but realised it doesn't include an annual service (I'm with Ferroli and pay less than £13 pm and get all repairs and a annual service). I have done a search and Homeserve comes up at a reasonable cost but I have no experience of using them, so I'd be grateful for some opinions/experiences/advice please:)

Avoid at all costs.

There are better out there, including Glow Worm themselves.

Search this forum for Homeserve. They don't come with glowing reports!

We have a Vaillant combi of 10/11yrs old and went to Homeserve but via Vaillant.

1st year £120 and we had 1 repair
2nd year now up to £150

Local plumber came out and took at least a week for the part to arrive, lucky in wasn't when it was really cold

He said there was just 2 guys covering a big area

Do you mean HomeDON'Tserve! I used to work for an insurance claims management company and I would never touch them with a bargepole! Stay well clear and save your money for a proper tradesman!

Absolutely NOT! We have had homeserve cover for about 10 years, but I've already posted in the forum about the huge problems I've had.
