Hotel room refund?

Hi,
I have recently completed a holiday to Las Vegas and the hotel was booked through Expedia.
Upon checking into my room, the view was totally unacceptable. I spoke to the Manager about this and she said that as I booked through Expedia I would need to take it up with them and when I was choosing which type of room it would of said "Limited View"... it did not.
I wasn't expecting the best view, but to look at a roof with industrial spot lights, satelite dishes and huge metal tubes and boxes on I find unacceptable.
The hotel were not helpful and I have emailed a complaint to Expedia, but would like to know where I stand on this issue?
Many thanks.

Well for starters the hotel were right...
You need to deal with expedia alone. I suppose the first and obvious questions are what was the hotel described as? Do you have proof? Did it mention not all rooms have a view? Was there an option?Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
There were a selection of rooms available on Expedia and I chose the Deluxe Room. It did not mention anything of the view nor did it mention the "Limited View" as the Hotel Manager said it should.
I have again checked back on the Expedia website today to book the same room at the same Hotel and it mentions nothing. It just says:
"One king bed or two queen beds. 350 square feet. Contemporary d!cor. Desk. Cable television with pay movies. Wireless Internet access (surcharge). Iron/ironing board. Hair dryer. Smoking and nonsmoking rooms are available."0 -

I am no lawyer but I would have thought that they are under no obligation to refund you.
Perhaps the best approach would be complaining to them direct and appealing to their better nature (brand protection) and seeing if they can do something for you.
Personally I would have slipped the hotel receptionist/manager a few $$$ and got an upgrade or change of room0 -

Okay, so you stayed at the Stratosphere Tower. Expedia sell 5 kinds of rooms for that hotel, 3 of which specify the kind of view you'll get. From that you should be able to deduce that the other rooms may not have fabulous views. Their own website specifies which rooms have good views, and their basic "deluxe" room says nothing.
You weren't promised a view, you didn't get one, there's nothing you can do. If you were desperate for a view you should have booked a room that came with one.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

As has been alluded to, unless a particular view was described for the room or room class that you booked, you have no right to a refund. If the room was described as having a certain standard of view, then you could have a claim for misrepresentation. That doesn't seem to be the case here.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
