BTW, Valk Scot, that's a great idea for garden pegs. And wilko's have their netting reduced way down at the mo, so I will be in town later to get some as it's pretty good.

They do rust eventually but you'll get three years out of them. You need wire cutters or a cutting blade section on a set of pliers to cut them btw. I don't thow the hook bit out either. I twist the two cut ends together and hang a pair of old CDs on the hook with a bit of string. (Old CDs from the front of magazines etc, placed front to front shiney side out.) Then you can hang these around the allotment or off the fence as bird scarers.

Tesco is clearing out a lot of gardening stuff too btw, at 75% off. Tools, weed suppressing net, weedkiller etc. Worth a look.

I took my allotment on just after my 2nd child was born btw, and dug my way through another pregnancy and two miscarriages as well. I found it all very theraputic tbh. I've had that allotment 13 years now, just me, Hubby not the least bit interested. I wouldn't give it up for anything now.
    Val.

Thanks Val. I went into Wilko's yesterday and bought some garden pegs! I had never even thought of them until your post, and they were reduced down to about 25p/pack. As I have very few wire coat hangers, I thought I may as well. They had little peat pots too. A pack of around 20 for about 20p too, so of course, I bought 3 packs. I always wanted some, but ended up with old cracked plastic ones.
