Barclay Card Pressure

Hi

I am new on this site so please be kind...I have received a letter from BC informing me that they are going to charge me £12 extra each month as I am over my limit. The reason I am over my £800 limit is due to paying only minimum payment each month and it as crept up to £1,015 from a balance of just over £800. I am struggling financially and my credit rating is not good so transferring the balance is out of the question. Could anyone help me and let me know if there is anything I can do to stop BC from making me fall further into debt with them?

Thank you.

Not quite accurate, the letter will state that they will charge you £12 for each month you go over your limit. This is in the terms of the agreement you signed when you took the card.

Best advice is find the £200 to bring it back under your limit.
  • Hi, I'm new on here too!

I was in trouble with Barclaycard not long ago. I gave them a call to explain my situation and they offered me a repayment plan, which I accepted. It's reviewed every 6 months and they lowered the interest.

Give them a call sooner rather than later. They've been brilliant for me.

When a debt is still at this stage, contact is the key.

Contact them today, explain and see if they can make life a bit easier for you.

Worth mentioning this would show as an AP on your credit file, arrangment to pay.

AP is better than over limit
