Hmm I did think about that but do I need the disks that came with the laptop or can I use a normal xp disk

Yes, follow the driver installation order as indicated on the Toshiba website.

Toshiba In the first instance, choose: Support for your laptop and enter your serial number. If that doesn't work, use the details that I have provided.
