Can I get my deposit back??

Hi
I'd be really grateful for some help re.a £500 deposit I put on a brand new car on Saturday. I test drove a car, loved it, a few days later I paid a £500 deposit to take it off sale over the phone - I haven't signed anything as yet. I was buying the car as I've just been promoted and am opting out of the company car scheme. However, today the company have decided that I have to keep my fleet car until it's end of life - January. I'm meant to be paying the remainder of the deposit tomorrow and going in to sign the finance agreements etc, however, I now need to cancel the purchase and try and get my deposit back.
Am I going to lose £500 or am I entitled to it back? I can't afford the car without the car allowance I'm due.
Thanks

All depends on their conditions. Often the deposit is non refundable, so best to try the polite approach first, and if that fails suggest that they give you a credit note to use in January!0

You should be able to get that back - As "Quentin" has said, go for the polite approach0
