Touch screen on phone not working!

Hi I have an LGpop GD510 which ended up in the hands of my granddaughter who I presume slobbered on it at the weekend. I know it was my fault but now none of the touch screen will work. It shows that I have messages and the screen unlock button and call answer button work but nothing else. Is there any thing I can try or does anybody know if it is repairable in this state please?

A new Digitizer for the screen can be had for under £10 off ebay. I'm not having any luck finding a disassembly guide for the phone but if the parts are available then it can be done.0
