Pc Worlds price promise when you have used a whatever happens voucher

What happens if you purchase a product with Dixon's groups Whatever Happens vouchers, this is a refund voucher when an item cannot be repaired. Then you see the product cheaper elsewhere within their 7 day price match time limit.
Does the same rule apply as if you were buying with cash or credit? Do they still have to price match and offer a voucher to the difference?

I'd say not...you been given enough vouchers to replace the item on a like for like basis. You've done that I assume? Why would you want more?0

I work for currys and we arnt allould to use any discount with whatever happens vouchers.
You should have been given the value to replace your product with like for like.
The store can call and increase the value of the voucher if there isnt any thing which is the same spec as the old product for the value given.0 -
Is this for your £400 laptop that you managed to a get a voucher for £800 for?
If it is I am gobsmacked.0 -

Have you been introduced to Esqui....our resident Currys God?0 -
Ah, Whateverhappens vouchers, my specialist subject...at least, since the unfortunate incident.... >.> As the vouchers are simply for a replacement (and technically have no monetary value), discounts such as price matches would not be allowed - and I have just checked on our store ops guide, there's nothing explicit about it.
It's also worth noting that you cannot get change from the voucher, although you can choose other products to make up the value.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
It's not about the money or what voucher amount I had, why do certain people think it's all about what money you can get. It was all about like for like and having a new cover for the new one.
I didn't decide on the voucher amount awarded and was more than happy for them to offer a range of like for like laptops and send it to me, as their website as a lot more to offer.
As for the amount, yes they did offer me £800 and my son could of picked a laptop for that amount (like for like) or even been greedy and had two, even bought other items with it. But we didn't!!!!!!
We were advised by the very knowledgeable manager of the store, that if we lowered our like for like then we could buy a new W H and also add the pro rata £72 on top.
Blu-ray was out the question on the price. So he couldn't have a blu-ray. Now he has to sell them disks, I’ve/my son as spent hundreds on these disks and would only get pittance back.
17" screen went out the window as the ones he liked were unavailable, out of price range or dirty used display only and discontinued stock.
So he settled for the 4 GB ram. 1 out 3 like for likes, but on the plus side, which made my son happy, the manager said that the processors was more superior now and advised us on which one to settle for instead, this cost follows.
£649 Computer
£239 3 year cover
All I wanted was the best deal and with insurance. The one he really wanted and was the same make was £599, but with the 17" screen, but it was the dirty scratched last one on display and that’s a no no to a 16 year old. This would have cost out at...
£599 computer
£209 insurance for three years or even better I would have gone for
£289 insurance for five years.
So now the computer he got is at £599, so my intention was to cancel the 3 year insurance and add this might have been price promise voucher and get him the five year instead. Or the manager could take it back under the 7 working day return policy and put it all through again with the new price and 5 year cover, obviously pulling his management strings.
Then again it was this store manager who said I should have had an automatic free, three year cover with my new one, because of the nature of the problem and should have pushed customer services more. I did do that and a customer service manager did offer to contribute half towards a new cover, but I would of had to go through all the right channels with emails and letters and would of taken another 2 weeks of so to get to where I was at that point. So it was all about getting my son a laptop for college asap and at the best insurance like for like deal.
I didn't ask for Dixons group to put prices up on their laptops with the spec we had before, when technology normally goes down in retailers favour. All I ever wanted was a new free 3 years cover because Dixons deemed the laptop DANGEROUS!!!!! Not fit for purpose.
Does this answer your questions Hintza and gordikin?
Answer these Questions;
Would you want a new three year cover or even 5 years?
Would you want the best deal with like for like?
Would you ask the same question about price promise? When you have been messed about by Dixons group, and spent hours on 10p a minute lines, travelled unnecessary miles to stores and 3 hours later to be told "still wrong code!!!"
If you say yes to one then think about not being so righteous, if no to all, then maybe we should put saint in front of your names.0 -
Do you want a new like for like laptop and a new insurance included ?0

BTW you've now chucked in a lot of info. that wasn't in your original post!?0

I apologize Gordikin, i know you meant well with your post, with you not knowing the full situation until i explained.
Most of my vexation was aimed at Hintza, who is obviously still gob smacked an disgusted that i should pull the Oliver card and ask for more!!
Not more money though!
But More customer satisfaction, with me feeling i can lay this case to rest with Dixon's group, offering me closure, that could of made me walk away and say to people around me " what individual great customer service they give".
It's not about how much money they can throw at you, it's about investigating individual cases (especially dangerous goods) and not just following the protocol whatever happens policy with no fix return within, 14 days, 21 days or whatever day they wish.
I've, or should i say my son, as compromised on 2 out 3 like for likes, just because Dixon's group wouldn't offer a renewed w h cover.
I'm the one out of pocket, not Dixon's group, it's cost me calls, wasted car journeys, blu-ray disks cost and now have to sell for a fraction of the original price, how about my time spent dealing with this situation and what about my son, how he feels and what could of happened to him because of the Dixon's group selling a dangerous laptop. ( just look at there recalls on there website on faulty laptops and batteries).
What would be nice, is for Dixon's group to acknowledge this case and apologize for the inconvenience they have mentally caused and explain why they don't give an automatic new W H considering the non normal claim.0
