Eurodisney please

Am looking for some help and suggestions so i can get my 9 year old daughter to eurodisney .
Am looking to take her some time in early January 2011 and to be honest dont mind how we get there be it flying, train , coach or even my car .
All depends on the price.
Have done lots of searching and come up with some amazing figures and if money was no object i'd just book it and away we'd go but unfortunately i dont have the funds to do that so need to do it on a budget.
I'd just be grateful of any travel/ticket/hotel ideas ,suggestions or companys that people can help me with.

I live in northwales but if i can get a cheap flight, train or bus from anywhere else in the country i'm willing to do it.
just need to get My little girl there this christmas for personal reasons.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
Pete.

Has anyone done the eurostar and changed trains at Lille ??
Price seems to be really reasonable from london to Lille, eurostar website saying that you can onward travel by TVG from Lille to disney but wont let me book it ??

Or does anyone know of any Companys that run regular trips from the south coast ??

You can phone Eurostar and get the indirect (Lille) prices and timetable now (you can get prices by phone, and book too, 6 months in advance by phone).

Disneyland Paris site has up to 30% off hotels/dates until next April, if you play around with dates/hotels you might find a bargain.

Eurostar also sometimes have good packages for both travel by Eurostar and a Disney hotel/park tickets combined.

Hotelwise I would recommend avoiding the Disney hotels as they are ridiculously expensive (& IMO not that great!) for even the 2* accommodation. Stay at one of the accredited hotels nearby. I recommend The Explorers, Magic Circus & Dream Castle. The latter 2 are 4* where as the Explorers is 3*, but is very much family orientated with a large swimming pool complex. If I was travelling with a child, I would stay at Explorers. All 3 hotels offer a free shuttle bus service to the park from early morning until late at night.

  • Yes, comparing offsite and onsite is a good idea.

Depending on the time of year you visit DLP, the onsite hotels can be cheaper than the associated ones - and January is one of those times. There have been some great deals out already for that time next year ie buy 2 nights get 2 nights free, 30% off etc etc. Early January is also one of the cheapest times to go anyway.

In winter months, I usually pay less to stay onsite than offsite, in the period May to October its better value to stay offsite, imo.
  • Did you not find the onsite hotels a bit minging (for want of a better word!) though?

  • Hey,

I have used 365Tickets just for the tickets before. They are quick to send you self printed vouchers and they work right on the gate of the park.

    Also take packed lunches ;)

Nope - and I usually stay at the (apparently) worst of the lot - the Santa Fe :rotfl:! I didn't particularly like the Newport Bay Club the one time I stayed there, the room was a bit shabby to be honest.

I have stayed at the Magic Circus and Explorers too - Explorers I found was on a par with the Santa Fe and Cheyenne as far as the rooms were concerned. The Magic Circus is the nicest room I've had at Disney, and it was better value in May to stay there than anywhere onsite.
  • Thanks for your replies.........................the main thing is then that in January i'd be better booking with one of the onsite hotels......am i best to book direct with one of the disney companys or can anyone suggest another agent company to book through ??????

Are there ever any discount vouchers or cheaper agents for the eurostar or again do i book direct ??

Can anyone suggest the cheapest way for me to book a train ticket from north wales to london as those prices are expensive too ????Any vouchers or agents i could use ???
