JESSOPS not really 40 prints offer

Jessops are offering you "40 free prints" if you sign up to their website. Except it should read "Up to 40 free prints on first order only".

Not such a catchy headline is it? Order 12 prints and the balance of 28 is written off, without any warning.

Fair or what?

  • I only got 12 photos. Went to order the other 28 and told "no can do". Jessops customer services say that is how the website is configured. I do appreciate that I have not lost money - it just annoys me that companies put up these offers (recommended by Martin) and the do not deliver. Not exactly crime of the century but short sighted of them as they will not get any future custom from me,

I think you'll find all websites with a similar offer are the same, ie you have to order all 40 prints in the first order.
  • Thanks for the advice, just been back onto Martin's site - this is what it said:

    40 prints from Jessops
Sign up for Jessops' photo service and new customers will get 40 free prints for just the £1.49 p&p cost.

Certainly wiser on these things thanks to your feedback.

Still amazed that Jessops have given up on me as I used to visit the shop for photo printing when using film and still do now gone digital (guess where I bought my camera from!) at least once a month, I thought ordering on line would be worth a try.

Can you spread the free photos over multiple orders though?

It is unlikely that you will be able to "store" your credit for 40 prints and use it pay-as-you-go, as I believe a lot of them use a voucher code and once that is applied to your account, you won't be able to use that again on a future order, as you will have applied it already.

I can see why they have done it though - writing a system to count how many free prints people have left sounds rather more complex to make as opposed to a simply just an upto 40 free prints on the 1st order voucher code, which is probably part of the online shop software.

I can see where the OP is coming from, but I suppose all free stuff will have a caveat somewhere. I've had no problems with my 40 free Jessops prints, collected them in store for free, so no complaints there.
