Well it seems my current router is packing it in...

deadrouter.jpg

It resets itself every 30minutes, meaning I lose net connection. B**tard thing. And the pic above is the homepage.... :/

So now going to choose out of these 2...

The Netgear one looks nice... but I can't see any other differences apart from the price. Can't see it being £20 better than the Linksys one.....

Any suggestions?

The router resets, or you lose your connection to it every 30 minutes? Check timeouts in router settings and try a wired connection and IE.

If it's really broken, use the belkin lifetime warranty, or get a free one from your isp

I lose connection. Wired. I can't check timeouts in router settings, because of the router homepage is corrupt. Can't update the firmware because it's in the homepage. Can't change security settings because of the webpage. etc. I will try the warranty though thanks.

Already got a free one (its a modem router) which fits in one side of the house, and theres a couple of us on the otherside of the house which it doesn't reach. We have an "access point" at the top of the stairs which everyone can reach (wired and wirelessly) which is where my current belkin router is.

    Tried a different browser/PC?

Could try resetting it to defaults with the reset button, and put the isp password back in.

This router isn't the ISP one. The ISP one works fine, just can't move it from anywhere apart from the front room :p

Yep tried different computers, OS's, browsers and reset it numerous times lol.

I guessed it wasn't the isp one, if you reset it properly, it will lose all settings, including isp password assuming an adsl router, which is why I said put the isp password back in.

I'm wondering when "ipv6 ready" routers will start hitting the shelves - isn't there talk of ipv4 addresses being fully used up in less than a year?

ok, the mention of a combined modem/router from the isp confused me.

If you've tried a full reset by holding the reset button in for 20 seconds, and still can't get into router config with it wired direct with nothing else plugged in and access point off, and a good ipconfig /all, then ask belkin for a replacement or repair.

Haha sorry should have explained a bit better.

I have been on support to Belkin and they are sending a replacement, thanks! :D Very MSE.
