Claiming back for holliday flight suppliment?

Well to cut a long(ish) story short my mum has paid a £35 flight suppliment to ensure she gets a morning flight and to make sure she has her first night in the resort rather than get there in ther middle of the night. Various reasons no point going into. Going to Corfu in case thats unlikely relevent.

Only at the weekend the travel company changed the flight take off time from like 7.15 to 5.45pm. Meaning she wont get into resort untill about 1-1-30am.

Now the difference between the morning flight she paid the suppliment for and the flight she has now been placed on is about £25 in her favour. Meaning she is being charged £35 for a flight suppliment (due to wanting the morning flight) for a flight time that would only charge her £10 instead of the £35 that she has been charged.

Can she therefor claim the suppliment premium back for what she has paid and been charged for as she never wanted an evening flight?. As a bonus what makes up the suppliment charge?. As I think it's the time slot, therefor when this changes it's less cost to the airline\ travel company yet they are still charging the premium.

The travel agent is claiming not there fault as they are not running the flight. Yet they charter or co charter the flight and pay according to time slot?. Any advice therefor on where my mum stands?.

Where she stands depends on the terms and conditions of the company she booked with.
  • I think the company is Olimpus or something. But from my experience of package hollidays the supliments are based on time slots as thats normally the reason given in the small print etc?.

Assuming it is Olympic Holidays unfortunately you cannot do anything as they deem changes in departure times are only significant if 12 hours or more. Re calculating flight supplements tour operators base this on what they think the market will bear. They are not linked directly to costs.
