Does an electron card work exactly the same as a debit card ?

It IS a debit card, and you can buy things over the phone providing the retailer accepts it.
Some places refuse to accept it, for whatever reason.
Acceptance is getting better though0 -
i thought electron and solo where debit cards but just didnt have the cheque gaurentee facilty as switch/maestro0

A few retailers won't accept electron over the phone... but you should ask for a visa debit card I know nationwide offer them for everyone even 16 year olds0

I was under the impression 16 year olds got Cirrus ATM cards from Nationwide.
Lloyds TSB provide Visa Debit to those 16+0
