good luck with your new business - what are you going to be doing?
Welcome Aurora emma what a lovely name
Business ideas are still in a melting pot but will involve beads, buttons and jewellery although in what combination seems to be in a state of flux at the moment I am throwing out ideas to friends and family gauging their reactions and will proceed from there.
I am waiting for my remortgage to come through so I can sort my finances out, then open a business account, working on setting up website and sorting out logo in the meantime I am researching, reasearching and then researching again. Mortgage may be tomorrow but in any event should be within the next few days so it should not be long before I can really get going :j:j:j:j

Thank you for the name compliment. I live in a place where we often see Northern lights, so they make me happy
A jewellery business will be ace - will you be selling online or at local farmers markets/craft fairs etc?
That is spooky, I did exactly that last year, although I resurrected an old current account to use for my business. I haven't had any problems so far with doing it that way (just saved a lot. I think I read on here that if you can use a current account do, as you save on charges etc). A friend of my daughter's who had just finished uni did our logo for a lot cheaper than 'big' companies and I absolutely love it
I have just had a remortgage too, so I can build a garage (which might accidentally be used for my business occasionally..lol) and get a new kitchen and central heating.
Changes and starting new things are so exciting aren't they?LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

OOh Northern Lights I would love to see those definitely on my to do list:D
Initially I want to sell online until I discover my niche and then will probably do fairs
The account I am contemplating should be free for what I need so that's OK
The business is in memory of my little GD who died recently so I want to involve my daughter in the logo design as art is her subject and I think it will help her
Do you have a website?
Change is exciting and I am looking forward to getting it off the ground

I am so very sorry to hear about your gd, involving your daugher is a really good idea and should be cathartic (for you both).
I do have a website yes, I hire out VW campervans, so the internet is our main market to be honest. (if you want to see my website google campers and Orkney and we will come up).
I think a combination of online and local markets would work best for your kind of business.. cover all bases type of thingLMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

Well I intend to sell other people's jewellery too so do you fancy giving it a go?

New diary and lovely, positive attitude. Good luck DT- you thoroughly deserve it. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Hmmm..... I may take you up on that. Haven't been in the right head space to do any jewellery making for a while... I'm feeling a making day coming on!
