  • My favourite cereal is #1 in ASDA.
    It's #1.45 in Tesco.
    (own brand)

Woo for waitrose being able to match Tesco.

Shame my closest supermarket is Waitrose, and second closest is Tesco. Oh well, at least work is near an ASDA.

There is 2 different forms of marketing going on here.

As Waitrose ARE cheapest is you only want 1 bottle.

And Tesco ARE cheapest if you want more than one bottle.

But if you only went into Tesco to buy 1 bottle and came out with 2. Thats a completely different story!!!!!

But they should at least state offers- I don't mind buying in bulk, if offers were clearly stated on any price-match tags, it would likely change what I buy. I think this is why they are not stated and not because they have what they believe is the cheapest price. This just feels more like manipulation then marketing to me and irritates me!

thats not the point of a price match...all prices were matched on the 22nd September...if Tesco put the lemonade on offer after this time, are Waitrose supposed to get label changes for EVERY store in the country to state this?

The whole price match idea is to show that Waitrose is competitive with the big four as people seem to think they are vastly expensive.

Tescos lemonade has been on offer for the past year if not longer, same offer, 12+ months!
