Great news that Waitrose are price matching with Tesco on branded products.

However, there are more Tesco stores around and I know that I can get the same product there as at Waitrose, and at the same price plus loyalty points !

Or you could go to asda and save even more by not subbing a loyality scheme in the first place.

True but Asda prices are not always lower.

Martin Lewis, MoneySavingExpert.com creator, says: "Those who still associate Ocado with Waitrose need to think again. Ocado seems to be aiming to position itself separately.

"While some of the products it sells come from Waitrose, this is a new level of differentiation. Add to that its Tesco price match guarantee, and this seems a real attempt to attract a wider customer base than Waitrose."
The story is that WAITROSE is to price-match Tesco. So how is this "price match guarantee" an attempt by OCADO to attract a wider customer base?

We are about to move away from Ocado as there are no loyalty points and the free gifts they first offered us have been sadly missing for the last 6 months worth of orders...

Cheaper and more money-saving to wean yourself off branded products.

I agree with the above statement.

I went shopping today and a lot of the branded items are priced at similar levels to the shop own brands. I came home with mostly branded items, which is most unusual for me.

Price matches annoy me. The never include any ongoing discounts.

For example, in Tescos at the moment, 2 bottles of Schwepps diet/lemonade comes to £1.70 on offer. They are £1.09 each yet in Waitrose they have a 'Price Match' label which reads "Tescos £1.09, Waitrose £1.05" and that they are cheaper then Tescos. NO THEY ARE NOT!!

I really feel annoyed that stores think we are that stupid to buy thier manipuative attempts to make us think we are saving- for those of us whom every penny counts, we know how much our food costs and most of the time know when we are being tricked into something. In the rare chances I'd fall for something like that I would end up so angry at the store I'd resent going back.

When will they start treating the customer as a human being rather then someone with a £ sign above their head?!

There is 2 different forms of marketing going on here.

As Waitrose ARE cheapest is you only want 1 bottle.

And Tesco ARE cheapest if you want more than one bottle.

But if you only went into Tesco to buy 1 bottle and came out with 2. Thats a completely different story!!!!!

This is good news because Waitrose has good service with the number of staff and they are polite
