MP3 Player & Audio Books advice please

MIL has said she would like an MP3 player for xmas. She'd like to fill it with audio books and listen to them on the beach when she goes on holiday.
I don't have an MP3 player and therefore have limited knowledge (i.e. none
).

My query is how much exactly will a 1GB player hold? Will this be enough for half a dozen books for example? Obviously it depends on how long the book is. Could some kind soul share their expertise please

I have 5 audio books on my PC, they take up about 750 MB. Where are you planning on getting your audio books from, I'd suggest trying your local library.0

I'd googled a few sites that sell downloads. These obviously cost more than a quid or so from the library. Have you had any experience of these site though? Are they any good?0
