Hi we have been looking for a new car for a few weeks and just cant seem to find one.
We currently have a Renault Megane 1.5dci 54 plate, done 66.000miles.I would like to keep it a bit longer but OH says we should change to a newer model.
He likes the Renault coupe it has to be a diesel he wants cruise control,17 alloys, rear parking sensors etc,but from a dealer they are alot of money.
Motorpoint can get us one in and have said this wednedsay but i have heard quite bad reports on the web about them, I am worried about spending alot of money and it all going wrong.
Do Motorpoint sell at the price they say or is it all about the extras they want you to buy?
Anyone had any positive experiences with them?

There are some good and some not so good experiences here as well

They have a few addons they like to sell e.g. numberplates at £25, HPi check at £61 or something.
Motorpoint are known for mainly dealing with imports, if the car is new or nearly new you should be covered for most things by the manufacturer warranty.
What are the terms and conditions for your deposit? Is it refundable? Deposits can be seen to be an agreement to buy. It might be risky if the car is not as described.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

I have got the chassis number from motorpoint and have rang renault to check on warranty etc,
They are getting back to me later with this info.
Apparently the car is a parrallel import?0 -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_import
or from Whatcar
Parallel import - Cars that have been bought elsewhere in the European Union then imported into Britain are known as parallel imports. Differences in trim and specification may exist between these and cars sold by UK dealers, but mechanically they should be identical.
Those which have been ordered to match the UK specification hold on to their value best, but even so, some franchised dealers will turn their noses up if offered a parallel import in part-exchange. You may have to sell the car privately to find a fair price. (See also Grey import.)I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
