Can't think why I thanked you - the OVEN??? was expecting detailed instructions on how to convert the washing machine at least...
ps - I'm a bloke, so references to washing machines (alive or dead) are purely coincidental.0 -
If you go to a cheap B&B holiday and want to save on food you can boil eggs in the kettle!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Now that is a tip i have not come across before LOL, just goes to show soemtimes the strangest ideas can work out great. I remeber years ago when my SIL moved into a new home and had no cooker she somehow made spog bog in a kettle, tasted fine but not something i would want to try unless i absolutely had to LOL.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. I once lived in a halls of residence with virtually no catering facilities. I became a master at cooking with a kettle. My favourite was cheese sauce (from powder) , pasta cooked in the kettle, a tin of sweetcorn and tuna stirred through the pasta and the cheese sauce over the top.
But you can poach and boil eggs, cook hotdogs, tinned and frozen veg, porridge, noodles. Rice isn't so good, it takes too long and the room fills with steam.
Happy days (not!)When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -

You can also do your laundry in the bidet (holds more than the basin;)) & dry it on the heated towel rail. I did this all over Europe when I was travelling at 18.
Still can't beat the salmon in the dishwasher though:rotfl:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

When you say kettle, are you referring to the device that boils water for tea? If so how is that done?
Just been thinking about how I'd do it if push came to shove... other than forgetting the idea and going out for chips (not cod & chips anymore!)... I'd put the sauce and meat in a freezer bag and knot it, half filled the kettle with water, put pasta in that (when boiling) and dropped in the bag for the sauce.
Surely she didn't cook the sauce directly against the element? Cant see that working at all.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0 -
I've seen a steak cooked on top of a hot car engine :whistle:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Having my kichen refitted at the mo, by OH who is doing it between shifts - so it's taking 'a while' - found out you can look on a rice cooker as more of an electric saucepan/fry pan and it's amazing what you can cook with it and feed a family of 4....Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
