I have got a Hexbug nano habitat set for my 11 year old - quite hard to find at the moment, again my boys are gamers so hard to find things. Maplins are out of stock, I got mine from Red5 with discount code.

    Also a addictaball maze;

also tech deck (finger skateboards) are popular at his school, so got some and a half pipe which is reduced at Argos

this is an interesting thread, takes me back to when my 23 & 20 year olds were younger! trying to get that sought after toy for Christmas (and there is always one isn't there). Teenage mutant hero turtles, toy story and furby springs to mind :o

My younget a boy is 10 and seems to spend most of his time on the XBox, but will for sure hit me with something he would like for Christmas when the adverts start and it will likely be the hard to get toy

So if anybody can recommend me anything to buy now before the rush starts I would be very grateful. I have noticed paper jamz mentioned a lot but haven't a clue about them either;)

He loves toys/gadgets that "do" things, unlike his figure-collecting big brother at his age ;)

I have a paper jamz guitar for DS (think Argos are the cheapest at the moment) - haven't tried the guitar yet but apparently it's quite loud! am starting to regret it already!
  • thank you for that - I will get on the case now :j

I got Hexbug nano sets from totally-funky.co.uk. Don't forget to go through quidco too!!
  • Just gave in and bought Lotso from Sainsburys in store for £39.99. DD keeps insisting that she really wants one, although I'm not convinced it has any long time play value.
Hi to all fellow Hamster hunters by the way! I've also bought 3 new Zhu Zhus from boots on the 3 for 2 with £5 off, as the kids do still play with them, and they wanted the badger, skunk and Roxy. Our hamsters are 'free range' too, all the other bits are gathering dust. I strongly suspect Lotso will join them not to long after Christmas, but there is no reasoning with an 8 year old who claims to have fallen in love with the thing!

From what I have read all over the internet, Clawdeen seems to be quite in demand as well as Frankie Stein, then Lagoona. Draculaura doesn't seem to be as in demand for some reason.
The easiest to get is Draculaura and frankie..got those from argos...clawdeen and lagoona are a nightmare to find,i ordered Lagoona from toys in the bundle last month, from the US and they send flipping Frankie!!!
they come from manufacturer in boxes of six, with one lagoona and one clawdeen in each box(i think it was the entertainer toyshop who emailed me that info)....for anyone wanting all four if you see them in argos reserve the lot and hopefully you will get the one you want/need
They are massivley popular,in america, have a cult following, the ebayers were selling them naked and then the clothes seperatley for a fortune...i love them my daughter loves them...will they be a hit when the ad campaign starts???dunno...if not then the collectors still snap them up:)
.......Pete Doherty and a tub of nutella nom nom

Just done a quick search and the only codes / discounts I could find were for 2009 and have expired now.

Haven't used Toyopia before but I can confirm that they deliver fast. Ordered one of those Deuce / clio monster dolls sets on Monday afternoon and received today. Okay, probably paid a bit over the RRP but at least I've got it and can stop looking LOL

I'm obviously really missing something here as I don't see the attraction of them at all. Mind you I can't stand Bratz either so obviously I shouldn't get a job in girls' toy production.:o
I'm going to take a chance and NOT get any of them and hope my 5 yr old DD doesn't tell me she wants them on 20th December...........
