Paul was originally believed to have been hatched from an egg in January 2008 at the Sea Life Centre in Weymouth, England, then moved to a tank at one of the chain's centres in Oberhausen, Germany.[5] American cable television network ESPN later reported claims made in a Bild article (later republished by the Italian press)[6] that Paul the Octopus had been caught in April 2010, by Verena Bartsch, off the island of Elba.[7][8]
His name derives from the title of a poem by the German children's writer Boy Lornsen: Der Tintenfisch Paul Oktopus.[9][10]
According to DPA, local businessmen in O Carballiño a town in Galicia, Spain collectively raised around €30,000 as a "transfer fee" to have Paul as the main attraction of the local Festa do Polbo festival.[11] Manuel Pazo, a fisherman and head of the local business club made assurances that Paul would be presented alive in a tank and not on the menu. Sea Life Centres rejected the offer nonetheless.[12]
After accusations of betrayal by the German newspaper Westfälische Rundschau, the Spanish prime minister Jos! Luis Rodr!guez Zapatero promised to send a team of bodyguards to protect Paul, while the environment minister Elena Espinosa said she would give Paul protection under conservation laws so that Germans do not eat him.[13]
It was expected that Paul would die before the UEFA Euro 2012, as common octopuses live on average no more than three years. After the 2010 world cup, Paul's owners said there would be no more predictions, effectively sending him into retirement.[14] He died on 26 October 2010 of natural causes.[1]

From Toy News daily : Duracell Toy Report shows iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch take top three spots on kids' wish lists.
The report shows the most wanted toys among from five to 16 year-olds this Christmas. Around 39 per cent of the children who took part in the study are asking for Apple gadgets this year. 17 per cent of five to eight year-olds, 50 per cent of nine to 12 year-olds, and 66 per cent of 13 to 16 year-olds put the Apple items at the top of their lists.
Number four on the list was the new Kinect for Xbox and number five was Zhu Zhu Pets. Other toys on the list include Toy Story 3 Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear and Barbie Video Girl.
The report also revealed that modern children had on average of 39 toys or gadgets to play with - more than twice as many as their parents did at the same age. Boys had more toys and games than girls (41 compared to 36), with boys receiving an average of £8 more of Christmas gifts than girls (£153.30 against £145.00).

I would love to know where they get it from 150 or less. Maybe if your kids are under 5 you can get away with that amount. But not when they get older. My youngest is 3 and his list just keeps going on and on and on lol. Thought i might just get a notebook just for his list.:j

Toysrus internal internet system has been down since sometime on Friday / Saturday and they are still having problems now. So if anyone ordered via 'click and collect' from Friday onwards and you got the initial text message to say the store would contact you when the order was ready for collection, but you haven't heard anything yet, ring them asap because your order may not been have recorded on the system.
