Problems installing programmes

Ladies and Gents,

I aquired a worm a few weeks ago which I think Ive gotten rid of, however ever since i had it I seem to have problems installing certain prgrammes.

When I try i get the following message:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

This is getting a tad annoying so any help to solve this problem would be appreciated.

All the best
