Kitchen Spray tap? ikea?

I'm looking to get one of those big spray taps for our new kitchen and really like the look of the Hjuvik one in Ikea as it has a spout and a spray hose.

Has anyone got one of these and are you pleased with it?

Thanks

Just bear in mind you'll need a high pressure hot water feed for one of those type of taps to work properly...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

  • Would this little attachment work for you instead?

We have one in our kitchen, it just screws onto the end of the mixer tap.

  • had one for about 2 months now paid £139 for it does its job well with a large sink (splashes abit) just make sure you have a solid fixing point for it very top heavy, you get 3 different lenth wall fixings with it mine is screwed into side of tall fridge unit. takes a couple of days to get used to it but all in all good kitchen tap. also mine is connected to a baxi boiler only 3 bar thats not a high pressure system.

Is it the Ikea one you have too? Didn't know it had to have wall fixngs for it? Thanks
  • I was planning to get the same tap for my kitchen until I looked up some reviews for it, not good according to people who already have it with reports of constant leaking/dripping. Do a search on google to see what I mean.

yes its the one from ikea, when i looked at it in store i didnt notice it had wall fixing either untill i fitted it, if you look just above the taps and below begining of spray hose you will see a silver ring thats what your wall anchor fits onto, in store its straight behind the tap so you dont see it. on google enter Hjuvik in serch bar 2nd photo shows wall anchor on ikea lovers site.
  • I bought a 'slinky' tap a year ago and I would definitely recommend it.... I managed to get it for £80 shopping around the internet..... I had bought the cheapo one from aldi or lidl's (I can't remember which) and it lasted a week.... My water pressure blew the end of the tap off.....

    Hope this helps...
  • Thanks for the replies, I guess thats that one out then as the windowsill behind the tap is very low so they're won't be anywhere to fix the Hjuvik wall bracket on then. Damn :(

Back to the drawing board with taps, can anyone recommend any good brands or websites please? Is it worth paying the extra for one with a 5 or year 10 year guarantee?

    Thanks

I have brought and had one fitted, I don't have a fixing point to keep it steady. It is mounted in a Franke sink but seems to move alot as the hole for the tap is thin steel. Am i better off changing the sink as I like the tap?
