Hi there. Off to the rugby final on Saturday at Old trafford. Looked into staying over, but struggling to find family room. Is it better to park near? Park at Trafford Centre? Match doesn't start till 6pm.

I was at season ticket holder at Old Trafford, if you park near the ground make sure you get in a £3 car park and not the £10 ones.
Or if you google map The Village Inn at Trafford Park, you can get match day parking tickets from there for £3 and they let you park on the road. DO NOT park on the road without a ticket though otherwise you'll get a parking ticket or clamped.Love United - Hate Glazer0 -
Thanks Kaaaaarl, also what about about trains? Will be going from Leeds or York0

There's a metrolink service to old trafford for matches etc. I'd get on a train at york to manchester pic and catch the metro from there (some if not all of the leeds trains go to victoria, which won't be quite as simple a metrolink journey)
advance train tickets don't look like too much of a bargain on that day, saving perhaps £2 off the normal £22.70 return, which would let you pick any train (last train home is 22:42 - later services are rail replacement busses - not fun)0 -
I personally would catch the train. There are match day trains from Manchester Piccadilly directly to the station at the ground. I caught one to the grand final a couple of years ago. There are numerous trains from Leeds to Piccadilly. You cant prebuy tickets for the Manchester - Old Trafford sector. You buy them direct from the station on the day. The match day services run from Platform 14 at Manchester Piccadilly,COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER0

The Transpennine Express trains go to Piccadilly, where there is a direct tram. There is also a match day special train service from Piccadilly, calling at Oxford Road, to Manchester United FC Station (directly behind the south stand). This is usually better than the tram as it is far less congested.
It's probably the way we will do things. Train to Pic, few beers in town, back to Pic for the MUFC Station train. Unfortunately, I bought my tickets before Saturday's semi final against Wigan!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
