Im waiting for my nil tax code to be set up. I have signed the forms and sent payslips to moonbeever.
Im worried that my employers will find out.
I checked before br that there was no mention of br in contract or staff handbook but as im trying to keep this as quiet as possible I wonder if anyone else has not told their employer or if they found out.
Any one else had any experience of this please.

hi there
there are a number of reasons why you might be put on a nil tax code, payroll are not told of the reason by HMRC. they should never ask you as this is not any of their business, and they should not be disclosing your confidential information to other people.
i was very worried about this too, but you will be fine.0 -
Thanks, just dont want any gossip at work if I can help it.0

they would get in a lot of trouble if they diclosed personal info, more than their job is worth
don't worry0 -
For all they know it could be that you have overpaid tax years back and only just found out - as Confused said there is no way they should ask you or HMRC, they have no right to, all they need to do is apply itThe worst cliques are those which consist of one man ~ George Bernard Shaw

Hi all
Does anyone know how long a nil tax code takes to put in place please?
I went BR on August 3rd and i have just had my second months pay since but still no nil tax code Will Moonbeever start asking me questions soon, or is it down to the OR to sort?
Thanks for any info anyone can provide0 -
I was br a day before you. I have had a letter from or to sign and send back about nil tax code and have had a letter from moonbeever asking for last three payslips which I have sent back. I dont know if its started yet as not payed this month yet. I would guess you will hear something soon.0

I was BR on the 16th July 2010, I havent made any payments to Moonbeever yet as I have still been paying tax, my nil tax code came through a few weeks ago so I guess I will be making payments from my October pay....
So you will have a while to wait before any happens...
