Hi a few weeks ago my partner wanted me out of the house and so i moved to a friends house, we have 2 young children who will be living with her, she is in a council house and her name is on the tenancy so i had no chance of stayin there
i have managed to find a room to rent in a house but of course wouldnt want this long term as i have 3 kids in total and visit them and would like them to come and visit me too.
im not sure what and if any benefits im entitled to as a single person, i tried my local council about a place but as im not with the kids 24/7 they cant do a great deal apart from put me on a huge waiting list.
whats the best thing to do...
im currently working at the moment but not on a great wage.
thanks

The turn2us website is an online benefits calculator that may help you to understand your entitlements.
Someone independent like Shelter or your local citizens advice can help you understand your housing options, which as a healthy single adult without dependents, is likely to be limited in terms of being allocated social housing.
The LHA direct website will help you understand what the maximum rates are for you for housing benefit but this will be reduced or be zero because of your income. You can take a property of any size but the LHA rate will be set according to actual entitlement.0 -

How many hours do you work? Because you're not the main carer for the children, you need to work at least 30 hours per week.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
