My pepper plant survived until we had the really cold spell earlier this year, Even through the 1st batch of snow.
It is housed & sheltered in my leanto though, Not open to the elements. I think i read under 5 - 8 degrees it will die off.
No idea on the others though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Peppers and beans are tender perennials so will produce again if they are brought inside through the winter.0

I grow all those plants as annuals, & compost them when they have stopped producing.2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
I saved nearly 20 seeds from one jalapeno pepper, Probably picked it a bit early but i wanted to eat it before the
cold weather kills it.
It was a mouth tingler.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The problem about bringing tender perennials inside i.e. peppers is that you bring insects in with them.
However if you grow them inside from the start you can keep them for more than one year.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Thanks everyone,I think il just compost heap them,no room indoors and only got a plastic growhouse thingy,Tho I'l maybe try the broadbeans in the growhouse, they look about the healthiest of all the plants, one has a couple of pods and another still has loads of flowers on it.
weve already had first frost up here, car windscreen scraping early mornings already...I brought the last of my tomatoes in today...done well, most have ripend to a lovely red or bright yellow(yellow tumbling),not too many green ones left
olly I had 4 pepper plants,2 grown indoors and 2 out in plastic growhouse, the growhouse ones still have a green pepper each on,but only about the size of a small garlic bulb, their leaves have been shredded by something?...the 2 i grew indoors produced some lovely large red peppers, but once fully mature i had to put them outdoors cos my window sill was covered in tiny black flies and loads of sticky stuff?...dont want to go there again.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
