A TPS question

A quickie re: TPS:
Round at an elderly relative's house the other night, relatively late in the evening (just before 9pm on Friday) when the local rag called up to find out if she'd received that week's paper.
At first, of course I only heard her side of the conversation and didn't know who it was on the other end which went something like this "Why are you calling? Are you calling everyone in my street?". At this point I persuaded her to give the phone to me and I told them that the number is registered with TPS (it is- I did it on her behalf to ensure she doesn't get disturbed and checked it again last week) and not to call again and put the phone down. She then told me that they've done this several times and I've advised her if they call again just to put the phone down on them.
Now, they're not trying to sell something, it's a free newspaper and for whatever reason they're checking to see it's been delivered. But, to my mind it is still cold calling so they shouldn't be doing it and I don't want her being distubed again by them. Can I complain to the TPS about this paper?
Thanks!

Hello,
I'm not sure if it comes under TPS, but maybe check their website to see.
http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/what/
(and contact them directly through the site).
My first step (if it isn't covered by the TPS) would be to contact the newsagent whos employees post the paper through the door, and explain that you are not happy to be contacted with regards to the delivery.
If you get no joy there, I would then write to the people who print the paper. I would explain that the telephone calls are becoming a neusence (sp?) and you would prefer it if they refraind from calling all together.
In my opinion 9pm is far too late for any company to be ringing, I find that very rude of them.
I hope you get a resolution soon.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No: 86 :j0
