I don't think Saga, or any package tour operator, will take Jake'sGran abroad without travel insurance.
Savings tip: put off that trip into town until you really have to. Saves petrol, parking charges, and lowers temptation at the shops.0 -
Jake'sGran - I believe the new term is SKIers - spending the kids inheritance. Please don't save it all just to give it away, it would seem like such a waste of all that time doing without only to then leave it for someone else to get the benefits from it. Get some very expensive and trustworthy builders and take yourself off on a cruise while they do the work

An aunt of mine also had no-one to travel with so she tried some of those single womens only style mini tours and gradually met friends she was comfortable travelling with and now she's forever off on trips abroad with them. I do hope you can find a way to go out and enjoy all your savings.
I will have another look at the holidays for singles. Maybe I will find something to suit but I am beginning to think I am something of a wimp as I worry about the sudden tiredness spells and not being able to join in and.... I can't carry my own bags wherever I go. Seem to remember that Saga look after this for their clients. The ideal holiday would be sunny weather but not hot, close to the sea in a large hotel room and fine food and just hanging around.0 -

You've just described the cruise I suggested a couple of posts ago! Saga aren't the cheapest - but they will pick you up from home (inc in the price) and the next time you see your luggage will be in your cabin. And that's very close to the sea!
They're used (because of their age profile) to insurance issues - and have a Doctor / Nurses on boardIf you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
