Oh Handy, I can well imagine! The dogglies are grand. 'Ickle Missy wasn't well for a bit and was yelping constantly and went off her food for days (and she's an 'ickle Missy that likes her food; she needs to be separated from Big Brother or she'll eat his too and he'll just stand aside and let her whilst looking sad!) but she rallied round.

She's extremely bossy and Big Brother lets her away with everything now (apart from licking out the empty can of custard my Dad has most nights! That's the only time he won't let her near and she knows not to try!) She has a tendency to run and jump on him when hee's trying to find some privacy for toilet duties!

And trying to get me in the door first, then him before her to try and keep the proper heirarchy of who's boss is just chaos. Our dogglies have the slip rope leads (when they are on them) which basically meant I tied myself in knots and the looked on quizzically wondering what on earth I was up to!

I'm sure I spied Red and Geebee on Red's diary earlier on today...

I haven't seen Erme in a few days but she (she is a she? :o) has popped on every now and again as far as I know.

Glad to hear little missy is doing OK. I know what you mean about the leads. Mine only go on the lead in town or at motorway service area's. Borders like to pull and knit, I'm often a source of amusement to onlookers as Bonnie takes Sappers lead in her mouth, then Bonnie and Cassie wrap their leads around dads ankles. BIL was OK with 7 dogs as most of the time he walks them on farm land. I would like to see him manage 7 on the lead though, that could make it onto animals do the funniest things:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I can just imagine him body surfing along the river when they chase a duck.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Cheers, Handy.

Our old springer x collie used to love getting wet. We'd take her to the beach and throw a ball for her, she'd catch it and then throw it into the sea so she had to go have a swim to get it back.

But she refused to go out if it was raining, and hated having baths.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Or you could try 3 Jacks on extending leads!!! That can be real fun and you end up all wrappd up in knots with each of tem pulling in different directions.

    It's GREAT to have you back Handy :j :j :j :j

Erme has been posting on and off - less regularly than normal - she has had good times and bad - last time she posted she was good but had a chest infection - and she has been asking after you often

Hi Ames, again I know what you mean, Sapper loves water, cold, green, slimey, smelly. Offer him a warm bath and shampoo and he runs a mile.

When we lived in North Yorks, he got out and swam down stream from the local sewage farm outfall. Remember Turner and Hootch, where he had the dog on the lead walking alongside the car? well that was us. When I bath him I wear full waterproofs and fasten his lead to the tow bar of the jeep.

I still end up wetter than him  His father was a gun dog champion, but in warn weather would lay for hours in a horse trough with just his nose sticking out of the water. I had owned sapper for about 6 months when the breeder asked me how he was with water. (he had a twinkle in his eye). I said he would jump into a tea spoon full of water if it was dirty. He said like father like son:rotfl:

Its no good having a Lab, if you cant get used to the smell of wet dog. Its what air fresheners were invented for.:D

    Cheers, handy.
