There's a lot of bumping going on on this thread today. Well Handy's not a chap to be left out.:rotfl:
Still not had time to finish my story or load up latest batch of photo's. Probably not that interesting anyway. But before I go must tell you about our regular west country postie. This morning he said things were getting better, only -1 as opposed to -6 the day before. He was wearing his GPO issue Thermal Hat, Jacket, Bermuda Shorts and flip flops. They are strange folk down here in scrumpy land.:rotfl:
Regards to all, Handy.:DMother Nature Don't Draw Straight lines, We are Broken Moulds in Life's Grand Design, We look a Mess but we're doing fine,

Evening All
How many pairs of sock is it reasonable to wear - am I being excessive with 3? What about wearing a hat indoors? would you consider it? (I haven't yet, but I am thinking about it!:D)
My heating is taking ages to make the room/house feel anything other than freezing.
Also off to forage....
2 pairs of socks, Tixy, and yes, I have worn a hat when it's very cold...Depends on the socks! I've got some lovely thick woolley ones from Dunnes, they're £3 for three pairs and they're really nice and snuggly.
I haven't worn a hat indoors (I don't wear one outdoors though either) but I do keep thinking about getting some fingerless gloves. It's really annoying having to have the heating on just to keep my fingers warm when I'm reading in bed or under the quilt on the sofa!
Fingerless gloves are brilliant Ames, definitely recommend them. I wear them when working, keep my hands lovely and toasty. I have some multicoloured sparkly ones which keep me amused:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

I wear a hat before the socks personally. I have a bright orange beanie (have to make a statement LOL) and I wrap up warm in an oversized dressing gown...but my elec is quite good since getting my head round the storage heaters and I think ?oil? heater in the bedroom. Also I read somewhere closing the curtains @ dusk or just before saves heaps of heat :T. I also have a fleecy sleeping bag liner I got from the outdoor shop last year (have under duvet) which is helpful
Hope everyone is well...was baking last night for depot shot nurses. Wonder if it'll be increased. Got to bake for Dr. C this am (was meant to yesterday pm but the purse going AWOL - see other posts elsewhere - kind of stopped that)
Anyhow just noticed a lack of pics recently so thought I'd remind everyone tis
