Thank you to FCC for the thread. Not sure how much I'll achieve this week, as I've got a few deadlines for work, which come first. I'll try to post a list every day and hope for the best.
Hello! Errmm - I seem to have missed a week :o Work is mad and I don't seem to have done much apart from go to work, come home and do school work and sleep. I am really hoping it gets better soon.

    Same here. :(

I posted this on the old thread, but didn't want the 'thank-you' and 'Happy Anniversary' to be missed, so I'm copying it here.

Belated Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Cyclingyorkie! And thank you for the advice re the gammon. It will live in the fridge until next weekend, when I'll half it, cook one half and freeze the other.

    [STRIKE]HW with DS2[/STRIKE]
laundry - partial success :o:o:o Enough to get us through tmw
[STRIKE]get last few bits for tea and vanilla icecream for banana
milkshake [/STRIKE]- some good offers at Mr M's, so the fridge is filling up - not sure where I'll put the stuff arriving on Tuesday
    [STRIKE]cook tea[/STRIKE]
bake something to use up bananas and apples - made tomato soup instead
WORK (marking and data analysis - oh joy!) - in a minute
phone two friends - one call done, one to go
[STRIKE]update budget [/STRIKE]needs doing again now

We had a very pleasant day and I've not sat around, but haven't got much done. The internet shop for Mr T took ages and I'm all over the place tonight. Must focus on priorities and live with unfinished jobs that can wait. I was going to put the SC on in the morning, but not sure I can find any space for it on the worktop, let alone have somewhere to prepare the food. :(

Hi there. Very new, and enthusiastic.. I've a few extras I'd like to do as well as trying to do the level one- possibly some level 2 dailies which are:

Sort out the business accounts pending the VAT at the end of next month. I *know* if I do some every day it will be less of a mountain, but I'm so stupid with accounts/receipts flapping everywhere/knowing I'll have made a mistake somewhere... I feel so overwhelmed by it!

Keep DD2 and DS2 focused on cleaning their room after their big sister left it in such a mess. Currently trying to hold on to bin/tidy 30 items 2x a day.
Remember to keep putting on my Psoriasis creams etc and give them a chance to work rather than expect instant results and when I don't get them, give up!

Similarly remember to stop and rest as my Psoractic arthritis is better if I do.

Sort out coal for fire in living room

Clean hall upstairs and down, [STRIKE]binning charity bags[/STRIKE], and random books no one reads.

Prepare packing list and "ease of stay" list for holiday in October

[STRIKE]Do something with the plums we picked last Sunday- some of which are looking the worse for wear [/STRIKE]

Actually use the Michel Thomas Spanish discs I bought from Amazon so I would be able to talk about life with people who live there and sound less of a dork on holiday. I figure an hour a day and I'll at least be able to back my mimes up with grunts.:D

So far that's it. Our house is a mess, but I can see how this approach of a little every day is going to make a huge difference. It worked with my debts- payment a day, saving change, ebaying, and amazoning stuff I didn't need, so why shouldn't it work with the house?

Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining area
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Sweep and mop the floor[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Clear and wipe worksurfaces[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Shine the sink![/STRIKE]
    Level Two
Wipe fronts of appliances and units
Descale iron/kettle/etc Soft water so don't have to. Will sort out drains instead- they glug if someone empties the bath
[STRIKE]Wipe table and replace cloth if needed[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]Clear and wipe tops of microwave/fridge/freezer [/STRIKE]
Check through the jars and cans and see what has been there forever and can be flung or needs to be used this week!!
Sort baking ingredients.. what needs binning what needs restocking and what can you use up this week?
    Extras
    [STRIKE]Empty and wash out bins[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Sort through mugs and crockery.. fling the cracked and chipped bacteria breeding grounds![/STRIKE]
    wash windows
    Thoroughly clean out 1 cupboard
Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.

i felt the same last week as i was sorting out all oh's sea stuff, i was fed up finding ticket stubs in random drawers and boxes, so i devoted a whole couple of days to sorting out the paperwork as when he is back he needs to do a form so that he doesnt pay NI, but trying to find what was needed was a nightmare as i was getting a head start on it, as its the difference between paying £600 a year voluntary NI or £3000 must pay NI, but now its all done i feel so calm and organized and am now getting my house sorted.

what ive done to get organised is got a plastic see through box, some labels, and some plastic A4 document files (pack of 10 half price in sainsburys, now £2.49 a pack) and have filed everything based on trip and all receipts, flight stubs, expense receipts and everything related to that trip goes in one folder and get a sticker on the front saying i.e jan 10 to april 10 so i know when its time to do his tax return and the NI form everything relating to each trip is in the relevant folder.

Lakeland have a receipt organiser, not very money saving I know, but so cute and handy that it would be a shame not to use it if you did get it. you can put the receipts in the relevant months envelope and there is space to write each month what you've bought. im trying to convince myself i need one, as i really really want one, but its not working so far.

i think the trick is have a huge sort out and get everything in some order over the next couple of days, forget the housework apart form the most urgent stuff and then once all the receipts and paperwork are in order you should be able to do the accounts gradually over the next month so that there is no panic come nearer the time.

    good luck
