Claiming compensation from SNCF

I travelled from London to Nice in June and was delayed overnight for 15 hours by the floods in the Var region.
Eurostar who I bought the tickets from dont accept my claim, SNCF dont either as the tickets were bought in the Uk, and my insurance company say I was delayed in transit so cannot claim
Is anyone else in a similar position?

Given the reason for the claim I doubt if you have a valid one - it's similar to the 'extraordinary circumstances' get out clause for the airlines.0
