I used to work in a store selling dress fabrics and I can tell you that Red is notorious for being a non fast colour - for some reason if ever a colour is going to run or transfer onto other fabrics it is usually red that does it. We were always trained to write on the receipt- "not guaranteed colour fast"
can't help with the legalities- but i thought you might like to hear of my experiences with red fabric0 -
As above poster says did say state it was colour fast if not you may struggle.0
