Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 26th September 2010

Hello everyone . Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Morning all,

I was red last week as I went out when I know I shouldn't have. The plan this week is to leave the cards at home and then I won't be able to go out after work even if I want to. This will help moneysaving and weightloss as I need to stay on track. It is the being of a new month (moneywise) so I am full of enthusiasm.

Anyway my budget for this week is £57.50 as the plan is to start higher so I have a chance of achieving it

I have updated all results and pledges from the last thread. Let me know the rest and I will update.

Hello, Can I join you here please? I want to cut down on 'frittered' money and think that if I allow myself a budget for little treats then I might be a bit more disciplined. I'd like to start with 15 and see how that goes.

• £2.30 other cinema snacks

Spends Today

• £2 on coffee at work
• £23.50 on dinner and drinks in the pub (monday night boozing is not a good plan )

Total £30.50 / £57.50

It is going to be a long week:p

Psychopathbabble sorry I missed the Glasgow meet I ended up going to Oban Saturday which was much fun. Hope you had a good time. Did anything exciting happen?

Don't worry Pointy, it was all a bit random in the end and not many people actually knew where it was. It was nice to meet everyone though and see a couple of old friends. We just stayed in Oran Mor for the night except a detour to the chinese for dinner.

Spends so far are a first class stamp and 2 pints of milk.

Well done on keeping the good cause going! I think it's about time I got back in the 'game' so, I am pledging £100 for the week, which includes some food shopping, cinema tomorrow, meal out on Wednesday and theatre trip on Friday (already got the tickets though).

Will do a separate post on my spending today in a minute, just rounding up receipts
