Spundown Duvets

Well I woke up yesterday morning after feeling cold all night and decided it was time to put a warmer duvet on the bed. Now normally I buy the cheap 13.5 tog duvets from the likes of Wilkinson or Argos every year for us and the kids and then when it starts to get warmer we take them to the local tip. This is because it is cheaper than having a duvet washed at the launderette and we don't have a bath in order to wash them ourselves. I do, however, feel a little guilty about this as I know it cannot be good for the environment and I have never been able to pass the unwanted duvets on to anywhere else but my main concern is saving us money.
I did a bit of research yesterday and discovered Spundown duvets by The Fine Bedding Company. They are designed so that they can be washed in a domestic washing machine, even the king size!
The four seasons duvets have a 9.0 tog and a 4.5 tog duvet and can be used alone or press studded together. The price on the internet started from £75 for a single and £95 for a double which I thought was quite expensive compared to what I normally pay but obviously these would last for many years.
I contacted Fenwick in Newcastle and at the moment they have an Event on and I managed to get the double for £59 and the singles for £48 each. I am so pleased.:j
They are lovely quality and have a warm feel to them - they really put those cheap ones to shame and I feel quite bad about ever buying those cheap ones.:o I had a lovely snuggly warm night (hubby said he was too warm but he works nights so for once in my life I'm thinking of myself here:p).
Not sure how long the Event is on for in Fenwick, Newcastle but if you live up this way and are considering a replacement quilt that you can wash yourself then I'd go and grab one quick!!

Thanks for the pointer... I live in London, but another shop called Bentalls is related to Fenwicks and has a similar 'Event' on so I called them up and managed to get the 3 in 1 King Size for £80... the cheapest I could find it anywhere else was £100.
The double was £68 down here, so you really did get a bargain!0
