Laguna II alarm annoyances

I hate car alarms with a passion, and my current car has justified my hate tbh :rotfl:

Why oh why does it insist on occasionally going off when I open the driver's door after unlocking - either by keyless or by pressing the button on the card? Probably annoys the neighbours when I go out to my car for something during a nightshift :D.

The obvious answer of "it's French" need not apply, I know I'm an idiot for buying it and fully accept this! :D

  • What year is it?

Difficult to know without knowing which wiring system it'll be using.

    2007.

I do wish it just didn't have an alarm, although thankfully it doesn't have the dreaded TPMS so it's not all bad

    Ha! Small mercies eh?

It's gonna be CAN wiring, (99% sure) so any fesible DIY diagnosis is out, as it's running on "data" rather than voltages.

Does it just do it at night, or this just when you use the car?

Only when I use the car - it never goes off at other times (thankfully/yet :rotfl:)

I would, simply as it seems to just doing it during darkness go for a proximit sensor, but that's a very vauge guess and a hunch rather than any logic.

Does it do it with both cards?

Oooo - you might be right there with the darkness thing - I remember it doing it regularly in an underground car park I kept it in for the first 6 weeks I had it......

I haven't tried using the other card for any period of time yet - although it did once, very briefly say "CHANGE CARD BATTERY" on the dash (it went away and has never come back, and the card works fine, so I put it down to a gremlin (or frog? :rotfl:) in the electrics)
