Hi,
I was looking on my companys incentice site today and I can buy House of Fraser vouchers at 10% off face value, however it says that from 12/10/10 you can no longer use vouchers to pay your credit card bill.
Anyone else heard this?
I think this is out of order on the basis that if someone is given vouchers for HOF then why can;t they use them on whatever they want, including ptting that towards something they may have already bought, by paying off the bill?
It was a nice incentive to use the credit card, effectviely 10% off everything I used it to buy, but now means I am likely to close the account as the card now has little point, its not exactly a brilliant rate and the incentive scheme is also quite poor.

House of Fraser is 100% right....why would they allow their vouchers to be used to pay a credit card bill with purchases on there which weren't bought in their shops....0

One way of looking at it, but also why would they not let you pay for things you have bought in their shop, albeit on their store card, with vouchers form their shop?
Also for me this was the main benefit of the card, like cashback on other cards, so now by allowing this all I am saying is that there is not benefit for me anymore, andI wanted to ensure people were aware of this in case they were also enjoying the same benefit. I would have been somewhat annoyed should I have purchased discounted vouchers only to be told I cound't use them to pay my storecard, as I don't believe I have any formal notice of this change to the payment facilities.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this information.0 -
argos have done this for years, you can buy vouchers at a discount so they prevent this0
