chronic joint pain

anyone here suffer chronic joint pain?
i have put that lightly.
i already suffer from arthritis and some disc problem along with severe sciatica in my back.
but over last year i have been suffering from severe joint pain,in just about every joint i have.
taking medication ,but tbh its not touching the pain,i am constantly exhausted, live in my jamas most days,my short term memory is shot, waken up crying from pain during the night and cannot move for the pain.
one of my daughters has been coming in to help me get out of bed in morning, think i would be stuck in it otherwise.
anyone got any ideas on how to help ease the pain a bit?

the only person(s)who can advise on medication for you is YOUR gp or specialist
as an aside are you claiming disability living allowance?0 -

just does anyone one find non medication things that help, lol you can see my brain not functioning.
yes i get hrm dla, have done for a few years due to my back.
just that pain is so constant, even holding a cup of coffee is agony, though if i can get my hands round cup enough the heat eases it for a few mins.i came into the world with nothing, and guess what? i still have it!!!:p0 -
I would say you need your gp to refer you to a specialist, but what kind i would prefer your doctor say rather than us.
Yes a lot of us on here have that as a normal day.. but for different reasons.
But at the same time, feel and understand where you are right now, you are not alone0 -

You need to remind the gp that the rhummy discussion needs to be put up a step and that you would like to see a rhummy.0 -
That sounds very much the same as how fibromyalgia affects me. However I am not a GP or any medical professional of any kind so I am not saying this is what you have. I would urge you to see you GP and tell them exactly what you put here. They may give you some medication to help.
Is the pain worse when you are cold? If it is, then get yourself a heated mattress cover. I got one last year and it is the best £60 I have ever spent.
Best wishes0 -

Try to keep warm as much as you can. Use hot water bottles or wheat bags on particularly painful places through-out the day.
Try to limit caffeine as much as you can and try to have more natural teas or hot water with lemon instead.
Good quality vitamins/minerals are also a good idea. Particular ones are beneficial to certain ailments, such as magnesium.
Aloe Vera juice also beneficial.
It is also important that you try to move around as much as you can without overdoing it so that you do not cease up completly.....which I know is easier said than done.
Small steps though as too much too soon can overload your system.0 -
As painful as it might be, you may find that moving around eases the pain. I have problems with the muscles in my neck and have tried physio and painkillers - neither helped much. I find that I do need to keep moving; but I have to be careful what and how much I do.
I also found a memory foam mattress topper and pillow helps with sleeping too.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Many people find that a TENS unit is helpful for pain in specific areas.0

fibromyalgia has never been mentioned, only that its chronic joint pain, like i say meds do not seem to help much, doc has been great at trying out different ones, but none seem to ease it enough to let me do anything much,as for nights i wish something would knock me out!!
