  • I've run ccleaner and removed 664MB. The registry cleaner shows lots of issues to be repaired - should I go ahead and fix these??

Scan with Avast running. Will this not clash with my paid for:) Norton, or is it Ok to have both running at once.

Will reboot when it finishes and post new logs (maybe tomorrow)

THanks again. - Laptop appears to be running quicker already

uninstall them if not used, or use this

    http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe

    you can also use hijackthis

I've now run this but am confused as to what I need to do with it.

I deleted using the control panel as many entries as I could that I don't use.

Please can you help me understand it all and disable the entries from the start

Avast was suggested as a replacement for norton, if all the other suggestions don't get it running perfectly, try swapping them.

ccleaner's registry cleaner is normally quite safe, but it is unlikely to make any noticeable difference to performance.

Using autoruns, search for the things mentioned to disable, and untick them, then reboot and they won't run at startup.

adaware/spybot and possibly norton would be my first suspects.

I've unticked all those that I can see just now. Will have another look tomorrow.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me - much appreciated
