Yesterday i went shopping, arrived home put some shopping away, went out for the rest of shopping on front seat. Some $%&^£"( had put a big piece of paving slab through the window to pinch lager on the seat. Yes i know i was stupid but i was only 10 minutes and it wouldn't fit in the boot and it was broad daylight on a main road!!! Anyway i now have to replace the glass. My brother has rung round scrappers etc and can't find replacement. Best we have found is autoglass who can do it today. Does anyone have any codes etc to make it cheaper if i don't go through insurance as i don't want to effect my policy.
Thanks in advance

If you have fully comp.insurance they may pay a percentage of your costs without it affecting your no claims bonus.Check your policy, they used to pay the lot until it became too expensive for them!!

My brothers car got broken into a few months back and all he paid was the excess which I think was £50 - £60. Can't remember exactly
I had quotes from autoglass and other companies for his repair and they were going to charge over £100 odd.
If you got comprehensive cover it won't affect your policy ( read your terms and conditions ).0 -
Windscreen cover on fully comp policies, varies usually between £50-£100,depending on who your with.
Don't bother going to a scrapyard,as the windscreen will have to be fitted properly,in order to keep water out,and the only way to achieve this,is to have a professional company do it.
Bite the bullet, have it done properly, and learn your lesson about leaving things on view, because whatever you have, some toerag will always want it.Even a few tins of beer.
