basic bank HELP

Please HELP i am applying for nearly all basic bank accounts but they all keep saying i have CIFAS notices on my credit file, i have got my eperian , equifax and call credit files here and none of them shown any CIFAS warnings , i dont understand can anyone please help because i am lost and dont Know where to turn, is there anything i am missing or could do Please help,

Hi mate,
I dont know what CIFA means!!!!!
But i think the best thing to do would be phone up eperian or one of the others and ask them to explain what it means and why its showing up at the banks when they do cheeks.
Also ask the banks why thay are doing credit cheeks on you as you dont need them for basic accounts as there is no credit on offer to you.
I do know that the banks still need to comfirm who you are so thay do cheek this. CIFA might have something to do with this.

I would suggest contacting CIFAS directly to query your problem and raise a complaint.

if you have a CIFAS notice on your credit file, it simply means the bank must send a letter to your address which you must then respond to in order to confirm that it really is you who wants the account opened, it does not mean you cannot get an account, it means that you can't get one issued on the spot.
