Some car buying advice

Hello there folks,

My partner wants to take a promotion in his job, which will require him to buy a car to get to various stores in the county.

I have had a look around at finance, and I can not get a straight answer out of anyone.

Many websites do not give a simple case scenario of how a car is financed, but am I correct in thinking that a deposit must be made then a credit agreement is drawn up for the remaining balance?

Or would a bank loan be ok? Additionally, how much does it cost to operate a car. Lets say for arguments sake we are going for a Mini, if there was daily driving of approx 40 miles, how much would that cost in terms of petrol?

Also, the question of servicing comes up. If it used as described above, what would be average?

Sorry of these questions are vague but I have searched high and low and can not get a straight answer.

Of course there is insurance, but that is a lottery! My partner is 30 and this will be the first car he has owned in 5 years.

Thanks in advance.

Find out what the company will pay in expenses and how they pay them.

If there are restrictions on the car he can use, age type then they should help fund it eitehrthrough good mileage rates or an allowance.

How much of the promotion salary increase are you going to allocate to the funding of a car.

What will the estimated annual mileage be and waht sort of individual runs?

What happens if he gets made redundant and you have a loan.

Plenty of good older cars arround that will do the job.
