I would love it for everyone to all stop and read any t&c's there are on the signs, it would jam up the road in no time.

Yes, stop your car in front of the sign, fumble around looking for you glasses, then find out you have got the wrong pair on, look for the other pair, put those on, take out a note-book to write it all down so you don't forget all those T&Cs, find out that your pen doesn't work, ask the driver behind you if he has a pen, etc. etc. You could be there for hours!
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • even if you photographed them you could grind everything to a halt. Writing it down is much better.

  • Hi all,

I've just got a letter today from APCOA stating that I have to pay a fine of 80£ because of the alleged contravention of 02-Entry into a Bus Lane (on Luton's airport roundabout).

I've already read the other threads on APCOA fines but I'm still wondering if the fact that my car entered into a Bus Lane force me to pay. Cause that's a real offense, isn't it ?

I've chacked the fine/invoice, there are no council logo, there is just the APCOA logo.

Do you really think I can ignore that mail ?

Thank you in advance for your answers

Yep, ignore it if it says that any appeal has to be sent to the company themselves (rather than a Council or the Airport itself). PPCs are making up more 'offences' every day, it's not just parking issues now!

What is the bogus ticket headed up as, they can't call it a Parking Charge can they as it's not a parking issue? It would be interesting to see a scan of it (without dates/pics/car ID/refs/barcodes of course). :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • It's nice you replied so quickly :)

I scanned the ticket. The thing I'm still concerned with is that last time I went to Luton, there was a police car parked just in front of where I dropped off my friend 3 days before. That's why I'm confused, what a Police car would do on a private road ???

Here is the ticket's link :

    Thanks again for your advices

    Anything they like.
Safe to ignore, if the appeal went to, say, Luton Council etc then it needs to be taken seriously but not this pretty piece of paper.

  • cheers peter but I still have a question,

Do you think they can pass the video footage or any proofs to Police or Council ? And in general would they have rights to prosecute me if I don't pay ?
  • Unless you were committing a violation of real laws (as opposed to the ppc's made up ones) the council and police would not be interested. Proof of what? That you were on private land and upset the ppc? They would be laughed at. Just to put your mind at ease please ask the same question on Pepipoo.com and see if they disagree with our advice.
