Looking to book our first holiday abroad for summer 2011 anywhere in spain ,we want to go all inclusive it would be for for 2 adults ,1 child .I did only want to book after christmas but noticed most holiday companys are offering a free child place now .If we had to pay for our son we prob wont beable to go away as it would be too expensive if we had to pay for him .When do these child places usually end ? Do you think there will be any left after christmas or do they all get taken up quickly ? Would it be very hard for us to find a holiday with a free child place if we waited until next year to book ?

It is the total holiday cost for the three of you that is important, so have a good search now to get a feel of the price.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

There is no such thing as a free child place. (See also 'lunch' and 'laptop' etc)
Holidays where there is a 'free child place' have overloaded adult prices.
As richardw said: look at the total price.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
free child places are usually offered in Jan as well however its the overall total price that is more important. it will prob be cheaper now than Jan for your holiday. new brochures for Jan usually mean prices increase'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

If you've already got a specific hotel in mind and the price is good book it, if you havent made your mind up you could hang fire in booking. As Withabix says a free child place doesnt always mean a cheaper holiday, sometimes its cheaper to pay for 3 adults because there are bigger discounts for adults than kids. But this could cause you problems if your child wants to use the kids club and its run by the tour op and not the hotel as kids booked as kids with said tour op get priority and if its full yours would be turned away.0
