Do as we say, not as we do

In a town I visit regularly there is a road in the town centre that has a hatched box junction on it. It isn't a busy junction, its more to do with visual obstruction and the road layout (its very hard to pull out into the junction with vehicles parked there as you have to do it blind) and the fact its near a police station.

Cars regularly park on the hatches and the district council does nothing to enforce it even though there are big no parking signs everywhere. When I've questioned the parking attendants about it in the past they say that its a police issue and they can only enforce the yellow lines. They also told me that its the council's own staff parking there.

Anyhow, yesterday I was driving past and get this - the parking attendants were leaving a car on the hatched junction because they know it won't be enforced - before walking brazenly into town in their uniforms in order to ticket the cars of other people for lesser offenses.

Seriously, can you believe it?
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

take pictures and send them to the local press, they will have a field day ;)
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Thanks taffy. That's my plan. I am kicking myself for not having a camera or camera phone with me. It's also why I'm not saying where I'm talking about, so nobody can get a tip-off. Not that I suppose anyone on here is likely to tick off a parking enforcement officer :rotfl:.

Box junctions are a police matter, but it is very rare the police ticket any illegally parked vehicle. We could wipe out the national debt if they decided to do so.

We live near a 40mph road, if I drive down it at night I could pass 50+ cars parked on it with no lights. This is a fixed penalty offence, but in 18 years I have never seen a ticket on any of the cars.
