refund to credit card

in Credit cards
my partner has recenlty cancelled his car insurance with More Than as he got a cheaper quote with someone else.
However, he has received his credit card statement today and More Than had still taken the payment anyway. He has actually received a letter confirming the cancellation of the policy so we have no idea why they took the payment.
Anyway, he has rang them today & they have apologised & said they will refund the money but as he paid by credit card, this is the card that will be used for the refund.
However, this is probably a really stupid question but how exactly will he receive the refund back. Will it be paid by More Than onto his card through the credit card company? Are we right in assuming the amount will then be credited to his credit card bill so he will have less balance to pay off? Will he receive an amended credit card statement taking this into account?
He has been advised the refund should go through in between 3 - 5 working days & he needs to pay his monthly credit card bill off by 9th October so as not to incur any interest/charges.
Any info greatly appreciated

It will appear as a credit on the credit card account. It isn't treated the same as a payment that you make though. For example, if you only make the minimum payment you would still have to pay this in directly, it would not be counted by the CC company. Also I think you still have to pay off the full amount on the bill directly to avoid interest charges because again it is not counted as a normal payment.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

yes, thats right, although its recredited, its not counted in with the minimum payment, so you still have to pay that.0
